One of the main reasons that I was drawn to the Juxtaposition was due to the artists that are involved with Juxtaposition. I was drawn to the work of Frank Gohlke, especially his 'aftermath' series. This inspired me to think about the difference between certain environments and also to look at things thatcould contradict each other within the environment. Henri Cartier-Bresson also demonstrated Juxtaposition in his work as well as the use of the 'Decisive Moment' which I was drawn to as a concept. The main ideas that I have for my Juxtaposition contrast was to capture things that are different to each other. For example taking a picture in the day and then taking the same picture but at night. Additionally to this, I also would like to focus on contradictions within the same photograph. For example, having a corporate urban building in the middle of a natural scenic landscape. I feel as though this would reflect the idea of 'Juxtaposition' well and that I would be able to generate a lot of ideas and images with this idea. I could also layer the contrasting images to show the juxtaposition between them.
Framing Devices
This idea is not my main idea and I do not think this is the idea I am going to do, but I was still interested on looking into the artist and the techniques of framing devices. One of the artists that I looked at with regards to framing devices is Eugene Atget, who used framing devices in their work. They mainly focused on buildings and landscapes taken from various different angles, which in turn creates a frame within the image. If I was going to pursue this idea further, I could experiment with different framing ideas such as
